The Walter Nichols Edit
Walter Nichols ran the Tientsin workshops whose 1920s and 1930s Art Deco carpets defined the look of Chinese Deco: saturated jewel grounds, open fields and floral sprays that sit as comfortably in a modern apartment as in a period room. Every rug in this edit shows the soft, shaded ombre coloring in its flowers, leaves or rocks that marks the Nichols workshops, and the edit covers sizes from small rugs to large carpets.
