Antique Oushak Turkish Allover Geometric Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1925. This magnificent Turkish Oushak exemplifies the grandeur and refined scale characteristic of early 20th-century weaving. The design employs a striking allover geometric lattice, moving away from traditional medallion formats while maintaining classical Ottoman motifs. This piece is a superb example of antique rugs from Anatolia.
The palette is exceptionally subtle and sophisticated, featuring a soft, muted field that shifts between taupe and pale sage, contrasted by the detailed geometric elements rendered in soft ivory and pale gold. The masterful use of abrash gives the surface a shimmering, variegated quality. The central field color positions this piece perfectly within current design trends favoring gray color rugs.
The repeating pattern features stylized palmettes and hooked motifs contained within a diamond grid, creating visual rhythm and depth. The wide, multi-banded border frames the composition with secondary geometric elements, echoing the sophistication of the main field. The careful knotting technique ensures both durability and a luxurious, dense pile.
With its expansive dimensions, this Oushak is ideally suited for anchoring a major reception room or dining area. Its neutral yet complex coloring allows it to integrate seamlessly into both traditional and contemporary interiors. This impressive scale makes it one of our premier room size rugs available today, offering historical elegance and timeless appeal.
