The central field is dominated by a deep, saturated indigo, providing a dramatic backdrop for the densely packed, repeating floral and vine tracery. This masterful use of contrast, juxtaposing the dark field with vibrant secondary hues of ivory, gold, and rust, highlights the weaver’s sophisticated command of the dye palette. The rich depth of the blue color rugs makes this piece a grounding element in any long corridor.
Designed specifically for grand architectural spaces, this format is far longer than typical examples, making it a rare and highly desirable acquisition. The composition is framed by a striking main border featuring stylized palmettes and geometric elements set against a rich madder red, which perfectly complements the narrow proportions required of hallway runner rugs.
Dating to the turn of the century, this runner exhibits the subtle patina and softened texture that only time can bestow. It is a testament to the enduring artistry of Persian weaving, offering a sophisticated and historically rich foundation suitable for the most discerning contemporary interior.
