Moud is a village in the Khorassan province of northeastern Persia (now Iran), historically known for one of the highest knot counts in norheastern Persian carpet production. Moud carpets are typically built around small-scale repeating floral and Herati vocabularies, executed at high knot densities on cotton foundations — characteristics that have made them particularly favored among formal antique carpet collectors.
