Antique Oversized Farahan Persian Knotted Rug, Country of Origin: Iran / Persia, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional late-19th century weaving originates from the Arak region, a center renowned for producing some of the most sophisticated Iranian / Persian rugs of the Qajar Dynasty. Its masterful construction and rich patina confirm its status as a highly desirable example of antique rugs.
The palette is defined by a striking contrast between the deep, saturated indigo of the field—a hallmark of superior vegetable dyes—and the warm, earthy tones of rust, saffron, and ivory that articulate the complex design.
