Bring dramatic elegance and historic beauty into your space with this casual large scale antique Turkish Oushak rug, hand-knotted in western Anatolia in the early 1900s. Featuring a bold coral-red field with an impressive palmette cross design, this striking room-size rug blends artistic tradition with timeless decorative appeal.
The design is composed of large, flowing palmette motifs arranged in a balanced cross formation that creates both movement and harmony across the surface. The open layout gives the pattern room to breathe, allowing the vibrant background to stand out while the decorative elements guide the eye gracefully through the composition. Soft touches of complementary tones add depth and contrast without overpowering the overall look.
Crafted from high-quality natural wool, this antique rug offers a beautifully textured surface that has mellowed with age, developing a warm, refined patina. The hand-knotted construction provides durability while maintaining a supple, inviting feel underfoot. Each knot reflects generations of Anatolian weaving tradition, making this rug not only a decorative piece but a lasting work of craftsmanship.
Antique Turkish rugs like the iconic Turkish Oushak carpets are celebrated for their large-scale designs and relaxed elegance, and this piece is a wonderful example of that heritage. Its bold yet sophisticated color palette makes it ideal for anchoring a living room, dining area, or open space where a statement piece is desired without sacrificing warmth and balance.
