A one-of-a-kind antique Turkish Oushak rug woven in western Anatolia around 1900. The piece measures approximately 91.5 × 213.4 cm (about 3’0″ × 7’0″), a long, narrow proportion well suited to use as a runner, an entry rug, or a decorative accent at the foot of a bed.
The composition combines a teal blue field with a pumpkin-tone border — a softer, lighter palette than the deep reds and indigos common in central-Asian carpets of the same era. the rug carries the relaxed, decorative scale that has made antique Oushaks a continued favorite for interior designers for over a century.
Hand-knotted in wool, this is an authentic antique example — over a hundred years old and unique. Oushak rugs take their name from the town of Uşak in western Turkey, a center of Anatolian carpet production since the 15th century, with a particularly active period of decorative weaving in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
