Antique Serab Hallway Runner Wool Coral Rug, Circa Date: 1880s. This exceptional Serab runner, hand-knotted in the late 19th century, represents the finest weaving traditions of Northwest Persia. Its sturdy wool foundation and finely executed knotting speak to the durability and artistry characteristic of these highly sought-after antique rugs.
The field is dominated by a striking, warm ground color, presenting a rich, deep coral hue that is beautifully offset by secondary elements of indigo, ivory, and soft gold. This sophisticated and vibrant coral color palette provides a powerful visual anchor, perfect for illuminating dimly lit transitional spaces.
Measuring an ideal length for grand entrances or extended passages, this piece functions perfectly as one of our premium Hallway Runner Rugs (3.02ft x 15.06ft). The narrow, elongated format emphasizes the repeating geometric motifs, guiding the eye along the length of the corridor with grace and precision.
The intricate field pattern features a dense, repeating lattice of stylized boteh and medallions, executed in a classic allover design that avoids a central medallion, ensuring visual consistency regardless of placement. This Serab runner is a testament to enduring nomadic craftsmanship and refined aesthetic taste.
