An early 20th-century Persian Tabriz carpet from around 1920, measuring approximately 335.4 × 487.7 cm (about 11’0″ × 16’0″). The composition is built on a navy field with the Mostofi pattern — a particular Tabriz workshop design vocabulary — framed by a rust border.
Tabriz is a major city in northwestern Persia (now Iran) and one of the historically most important centers of formal Persian carpet weaving.
