A 1930s Persian Isfahan carpet, measuring approximately 122.2 × 213.5 cm (about 4’0″ × 7’0″). The composition pairs a red-rust field with a blue border in the refined floral vocabulary characteristic of Isfahan production. After a long caesura,carpet weaving revived in the 1920’s.

Isfahan (Esfahan) is a historic city and old capital in central Persia (now Iran), one of the most important centers of fine formal Persian carpet weaving.
