The Baluch are a tribal people whose weaving traditions span eastern Persia (Khorassan), western Afghanistan, and Baluchistan. Baluch prayer rugs are recognized for their dark saturated palettes (deep red, indigo, brown), distinctive mihrab vocabularies, and the durable hand-spun wool yarns characteristic of nomadic central Asian production.
