A late 19th-century North-West Persian carpet from the 1890s, measuring approximately 190.5 × 462.3 cm (about 6’3″ × 15’2″). The composition is built on a red field with a geometric design in the long-format proportion characteristic of NW Persian village production.

The northwestern Persian weaving regions — Heriz, Tabriz, Sarab, Karajeh, Bakhshaiesh — are home to some of the most distinctive Persian decorative carpet traditions of the 19th century.
