A late 19th-century Turkish Oushak rug from the 1890s, measuring approximately 281.9 × 368.3 cm (about 9’3″ × 12’1″). The composition centers on a medallion design over a green field — a particularly fresh and uncommon color register for an Oushak of this period.
Oushak takes its name from the town of Uşak in western Turkey, a center of Anatolian carpet weaving since the 15th century.
Hand-knotted wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
