Antique Moud Large Hallway Runner Wool Gray Rug, Circa Date: 1860s. This exceptional Persian Moud runner, woven during the height of Qajar artistry, represents the finest craftsmanship available in antique rugs of the period. Its construction utilizes high-quality wool, ensuring both durability and a luxurious, soft handle underfoot.
The subtle and sophisticated colorway is defined by a nuanced field of warm gray and taupe, shifting beautifully depending on the light and perspective. Unlike starker palettes, this piece employs a complex, earthy range of tones, making it a perfect complement for contemporary or traditional interiors seeking gray color rugs with depth and history.
Designed specifically for transitional spaces, this large format piece excels as a dramatic entry point or a continuous visual element in a long corridor. The elongated dimensions are ideal for defining space and guiding the eye, placing it among the most desirable hallway runner rugs available from this era.
The field features a meticulously rendered, small-scale repeating design, characteristic of the Moud weaving tradition. This dense, repeating motif creates a mesmerizing texture across the entire surface, classifying it as one of the most elegant examples of allover rugs where no single medallion dominates the composition.
