The composition pairs a navy field with an ivory border. The Qashqai and Khamsehare major tribal confederations of southern Persia (Fars province, around Shiraz), historically producing some of the most distinctive tribal hand-knotted wool carpets of the Persian tradition, with bold geometric medallions and saturated natural-dye color palettes. The Qashgaie are Turkic, but the Khamseh are a mixture of Turks, Persians and Arabs.
