A late 19th-century Persian Serab carpet from around 1890, measuring approximately 335.4 × 548.9 cm (about 11’0″ × 18’0″). The composition is a camel-toned field with a medallion design, framed by a light blue border — the classic Serab palette in a particularly large gallery-format proportion suited to formal long living rooms and dining spaces.
Serab is a historic weaving region in northwestern Persia (now Iran), best known for the soft camel-and-wool yarn foundations characteristic of the type.
