A late 19th-century Persian Serapi carpet from the 1880s, measuring approximately 335.4 × 457.5 cm (about 11’0″ × 15’0″). The composition centers on a rose-medallion design over a salmon field — a softer, more romantic color register than the deeper-red Serapis more commonly seen at this scale.
Serapi is the trade name for the highest-quality antique carpets produced in the Heriz weaving district of northwestern Persia in the late 19th century.
