This exquisite example of 20th-century weaving tradition originates from the renowned workshops of Kashan, a city celebrated for producing some of the finest Iranian Persian rugs. The piece is a testament to the enduring quality and sophisticated design inherent in this provenance.
The luxurious wool pile features a highly desirable light ground, utilizing a soft ivory beige cream tone that maximizes light reflection. This intricate, non-medallioned structure ensures visual balance across the entire surface.
Measuring generously, this piece falls into the category of room size rugs, making it an ideal anchor for a formal living area or grand dining room. The scale allows the detailed artistry of the floral motifs, rendered in subtle shades of slate blue and olive green, to be fully appreciated without overwhelming the space. The 1940s vintage ensures a patina that only age can bestow.
As a meticulously hand-knotted textile from the mid-20th century, this Kashan represents a valuable acquisition for collectors and interior designers seeking authentic antique rugs.
