Antique Kashan Room Size Wool Coral Rug, Circa Date: 1886. This exceptional late 19th-century Persian weaving exemplifies the high standards of classical design associated with Kashan rugs. The composition features a highly refined central medallion and pendant system set against a richly saturated field.
The vibrant main field is dominated by a deep, luminous coral hue, a sought-after shade that places it within the category of coral color rugs. The density of the all-over design is remarkable, featuring an abundance of finely drawn vines and palmettes, characteristic of classic Persian floral rugs.
Measuring a substantial size, this piece is classified as one of the desirable room size rugs, capable of anchoring a formal drawing room or dining area. The generous dimensions allow the viewer to fully appreciate the complex interplay between the primary field and the multi-layered border system, which utilizes deep indigo and secondary accents of pale blue.
The wool quality remains superb, retaining a soft handle and excellent color saturation despite its age, dating back to 1886. This masterful piece represents a significant investment in textile history and is a prime example of the enduring artistry found in our collection of curated antique rugs.
