Antique Persian N.W. Persian Blue 1900s Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of N.W. Persian weaving tradition captures the robust aesthetic favored in the early 20th century. Its bold, graphic rendering distinguishes it among other antique rugs of the period, offering a powerful statement piece rooted in tribal artistry.
The palette is defined by the dramatic contrast between the saturated terracotta border and the deep indigo ground. This rich field color, typical of the finest natural dyes, provides a striking backdrop for the highly stylized botanical and totemic motifs, placing it squarely within the category of desirable blue color rugs.
The design features a dense, repeating structure of stylized trees and cypress forms, interpreted with a geometric precision characteristic of village production. Unlike centralized medallions, the composition utilizes an effective allover pattern that ensures visual consistency and dynamism across the entire surface.
Perfectly preserved for its age, this piece retains its original character and excellent pile density. Its functional dimensions make it an ideal small scatter size rug, suitable for an entryway, study, or beside a bed, providing a foundational layer of history and enduring craftsmanship.
