A monumental late 19th-century West Persian Senneh Garrus carpet from around 1880, measuring approximately 396.5 × 609.8 cm (about 13’0″ × 20’0″). The composition pairs a deep navy field with an ivory border, in the Garrus vocabulary characteristic of the highest-tier Senneh production.

Senneh — the historical name for the city of Sanandaj in Persian Kurdistan — is one of the most refined formal weaving centers in the Persian tradition. “Garrus” refers to a particularly disciplined, large-scale design vocabulary of arabesque and curvilinear motifs associated with Senneh’s most ambitious workshop production.

Hand-knotted wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
