A late 19th-century West Persian Senneh paisley kilim from around 1880, measuring approximately 122.0 × 152.7 cm (about 4’0″ × 5’0″). The composition pairs a navy field with a yellow border, in the boteh (paisley) repeat vocabulary characteristic of Senneh kilim production.

Senneh — the historical name for the city of Sanandaj in Persian Kurdistan — is the only Persian weaving region recognized for both pile and kilim production at the highest formal level. Senneh kilims are particularly prized for fine drawing and exceptionally tight construction.

Hand-woven wool flat-weave (kilim). Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
