The composition is an ivory ground with a rose floral design, executed in the flat-weave kilim technique — a folk-textile palette and method characteristic of the Bessarabian European tradition. Bessarabia is the historical name for a region between the Prut and Dniester rivers, today divided across Moldova and Ukraine.
