Antique Oushak Turkish Floral, Medallion Yellow Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece exemplifies the elegance of early 20th-century western Anatolian weaving. Oushak production during this period often favored grand scale and softer palettes, making this a highly desirable addition to any collection of antique rugs.
The composition is defined by a serene, open field of luminous yellow, providing a perfect counterpoint to the subtle, sun-bleached tones of yellow used in the detailing. This restrained use of color highlights the textile’s luxurious texture and enhances its ability to integrate seamlessly into modern or traditional interiors.
A graceful, stylized medallion anchors the center, framed by sweeping floral sprays and delicate vine work that extend into the expansive borders. The design eschews the dense patterning of earlier Persian styles, opting instead for a sophisticated, airy arrangement that allows the primary field color to dominate.
Woven with a supple wool pile, this Turkish masterpiece offers both visual appeal and remarkable durability. Its generous dimensions classify it among the finest room size rugs, capable of defining a primary living space or formal dining area with understated historical gravity and warmth.
