A modern American hooked rug, The composition is a clean, graphic block pattern — a strong choice for contemporary interiors, mid-century rooms, and spaces where the rug is meant to anchor the floor as a piece of art rather than recede.
American hooked rugs are made by pulling loops of yarn (traditionally wool, often cotton in contemporary production) through a stretched backing using a hand-held hook, a technique that originated in 19th-century New England and remains a distinctive American floor-covering tradition. The hooked surface gives the rug its characteristic textured pile and matte finish, very different from the harder sheen of pile-knotted carpets.
This is a one-of-a-kind hand-hooked piece offered as-is.
