A mid-20th-century Persian Isfahan carpet from around 1940, measuring approximately 91.6 × 152.5 cm (about 3’0″ × 5’0″). The composition pairs an ivory ground with a buff-toned border, with silk highlights woven in alongside the predominantly wool pile.

Isfahan is a historic city and old capital in central Persia (now Iran), and is now one of the most important centers of fine formal Persian carpet weaving. Silk-highlighted Isfahans represent the upper tier of Isfahan production.
