Antique Kashan Persian Coral 1920s Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece represents the enduring quality of early 20th-century Persian weaving. Woven in the city of Kashan, renowned for its fine knotting and luxurious wool, this example showcases the sophisticated palette typical of Kashan rugs from this era.
The field is dominated by a rich, saturated coral hue, which transitions beautifully between rust and lighter coral tones depending on the light. This vibrant ground provides a striking contrast to the deep indigo and muted olive tones used in the intricate design work, making it a standout among coral color rugs.
The structure features a traditional Persian design rendered in an elegant, repeating vine and palmette motif. This balanced composition utilizes an allover pattern that fills the entire field, avoiding a central medallion and offering visual continuity perfect for anchoring a room’s design.
As a fine example of antique rugs, this piece offers not only historical value but also practical durability. Its dimensions suggest a small scatter size, making it an ideal accent rug for an entryway, study, or beside a bed, adding warmth and depth to any interior setting.
Condition: Good.
