A late 19th-century West Persian Senneh carpet from around 1890, measuring approximately 122.1 × 183.0 cm (about 4’0″ × 6’0″). The composition pairs a blue field with a soft red border — a refined, contained color register characteristic of the Senneh formal tradition.
Senneh — the historical name for the city of Sanandaj in Persian Kurdistan, in northwestern Iran — is one of the most refined small-format weaving centers in the Persian tradition, known for exceptionally fine knot count, single-weft construction, and clearly drawn floral and herati vocabularies.
