A 19th-century antique West Persian Bijar carpet, The piece measures approximately 99 × 452 cm (3’3″ × 14’10”), a long runner format suited to gallery passages and long hallways.

Bijar is a town in the Kurdish region of northwestern Persia (now Iran), historically known for producing exceptionally dense, structurally heavy wool carpets — the so-called “iron carpets of Persia.” The combination of a tightly packed pile and a double-weft foundation gives Bijars unusual weight and durability.

Hand-woven wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
