An early 20th-century Turkish Oushak carpet from around 1900, measuring approximately 518.3 × 579.3 cm (about 17’0″ × 19’0″). The composition is built on a sky-blue field — a luminous, soft color register that is among the most sought-after among collectors and decorators of antique Oushaks.
Oushak takes its name from the town of Uşak in western Turkey, a center of Anatolian carpet weaving since the 15th century. Decorative Oushaks of this period and scale have been a benchmark in the Western interior-design market for over a century.
