An early 20th-century Turkish Oushak carpet from around 1930, measuring approximately 457.2 × 640.2 cm (about 15’0″ × 21’0″). The composition is an allover design over a taupe field framed by a rose-pink border — a soft, neutral palette that is among the most sought-after color registers in 20th-century Oushak production.
Oushak takes its name from the town of Uşak in western Turkey, a center of Anatolian carpet weaving since the 15th century. Oushaks of this size and palette have been a benchmark in the Western interior-design market for nearly a century, valued for their generous decorative scale and forgiving neutral color.
