Antique Turkish Allover Geometric Hand Knotted Pile Rug, Country of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: 1900s. This vibrant piece is a superb example of Turkish rugs produced during the early 20th century, characterized by its robust wool construction and striking color saturation.
The field features a striking composition of stylized geometric motifs rendered in saturated magenta and soft pale blue against a luminous cream ground. The design employs an allover pattern, ensuring visual continuity and allowing the rug to anchor a space without demanding a central focal point.
Given its substantial dimensions of 8.04ft x 11.07ft, this textile qualifies as a true Room Size Rugs, capable of defining a large living area or formal dining space. The intricate, multi-layered border system frames the central design with precision, utilizing repeating geometric elements that harmonize with the main field.
The palette retains a remarkable freshness, a testament to the quality of the natural dyes used at the time of its creation in the 1900s. This highly decorative textile is a compelling addition to any collection of fine antique rugs, offering both historical depth and immediate visual impact.
