A 1920s Persian Kashan carpet from around 1925, measuring approximately 312.4 × 508.0 cm (about 10’3″ × 16’8″). The composition is a pink-toned floral design at grand formal scale, woven from a wool-and-silk yarn combination — a higher-end material specification characteristic of the upper tier of Kashan workshop production.
Kashan is a historic city in central Persia (now Iran) and one of the oldest continuous centers of formal Persian carpet production.
