Serab (also Sarab) is a historic weaving region in northwestern Persia (now Iran), well known for the camel-toned, often solid-field runners that have been produced there since the late 19th century. Serab runners are particularly recognized for their hand-spun camel-and-wool yarn foundations, which give the surface a soft, characteristic texture that distinguishes them from the more formal urban weavings of the same era.
