A one-of-a-kind antique Persian Baluch Turkmen rug
The Baluch are a tribal people whose weaving traditions span eastern Persia (Khorassan), western Afghanistan, and Baluchistan; the Turkmen confederations historically inhabited the lands north of Persia along the Amu Darya river. Baluch and Turkmen carpets share a tradition of dark, saturated palettes (deep red, indigo, brown), bold geometric güls, and durable hand-spun wool yarns characteristic of nomadic and semi-nomadic central Asian production.
Hand-knotted wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique tribal carpet.
