An early 20th-century North-West Persian Heriz rug from around 1920, measuring approximately 91.6 × 152.6 cm (about 3’0″ × 5’0″). The composition pairs a camel field with a dark blue border in a floral design — a softer, lighter-toned color register than the saturated reds of the larger Heriz/Serapi pieces of the same period.
Heriz is the broader weaving district in northwestern Persia (now Iran) from which the Serapi tradition takes its name.
