Antique American Hooked Rug Small Scatter Size Wool Brown, Circa Date: 1920s. This charming, domestically produced textile exemplifies the enduring appeal of antique rugs crafted during the early 20th century. The hand-hooked technique lends a textural, robust quality to the wool pile, characteristic of American folk art traditions.
The composition is dominated by a vibrant, cascading spray of red roses and their accompanying sage-toned foliage, set against a warm, peachy-tan field. This naturalistic depiction places the piece firmly within the tradition of scenic pictorial rugs, offering a delightful, intimate vignette suitable for a variety of settings.
Measuring perfectly as a scatter piece, this textile offers versatility without dominating a space. The dimensions are ideal for adding a concentrated burst of color and texture in transitional areas, serving as a sophisticated accent among other small scatter size rugs or beneath a small piece of furniture.
While the primary visual impact is the striking crimson of the roses, the overall foundation utilizes a sophisticated palette of neutral and earth tones. The subtle, underlying hue of the field connects this piece to our curated collection of brown earth tone color rugs, providing a grounding warmth that balances the floral exuberance.
