A one-of-a-kind antique American braided rug in 9′ round format, The composition is a multi-color jewel-tone palette executed in the braided technique characteristic of American folk-art floor coverings.

American braided rugs are made by braiding strips of fabric (traditionally wool, cotton, or recycled clothing) into long ropes, then coiling and stitching the ropes into a circular or oval rug. The technique has deep New England roots and remains one of the most distinctive American folk-textile traditions.
