A one-of-a-kind antique Persian Bijar rug
Bijar is a town in the Kurdish region of northwestern Persia (now Iran), historically known for producing some of the most densely woven, structurally heavy wool carpets in the Persian tradition — the so-called “iron carpets of Persia.” The combination of a tightly packed pile and double-weft foundation gives Bijars unusual weight and durability.
Hand-woven wool, densely packed pile. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
