A striking antique blue Peking, hand-knotted in wool in China around 1920. This one-of-a-kind piece showcases a scenic pictorial across a blue palette, and measures 4’0″ x 6’0″.

Antique Chinese Peking carpets were hand-woven in northern China in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are loved for their open, uncluttered fields, soft sculpted wool pile, and motifs drawn from Chinese symbolism – medallions, florals, birds and auspicious emblems, as well as scenic patterns derived from scroll paintings.

As a generous scatter, it will anchor a ornament or dining room, framing a seating group or sitting comfortably under an occasional table. Its cool blues work beautifully against warm woods, brass accents and neutral walls. Hand-knotted from durable wool, it is made to be lived with and handed down.
