On August 26, 2026, a glacial collapse on the Nepal–Tibet border sent a catastrophic wall of water and debris down the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river valleys. Hundreds of people lost their lives, more than a thousand remain missing, and entire villages in Nepal’s Rasuwa district were swept away.
The Himalayas gave the rug world some of its most distinctive weaving traditions — the tiger rugs, saddle covers, and meditation squares of the Tibetan plateau, and the hand-knotted wool rugs of Nepal. Several of those pieces live in our collection, and it feels right that they should help.
Through October 31, 2026, Rugs On Net will donate 20% of the purchase price of every rug in this collection to GlobalGiving’s Nepal Flood Relief Fund, which channels flexible funding to trusted local organizations on the ground providing search and rescue, emergency medical care, shelter, food, and clean water — and, as needs evolve, longer-term rebuilding in remote communities.
