A monumental early 20th-century South-East Persian Kirman carpet from around 1920, measuring approximately 335.5 × 640.2 cm (about 11’0″ × 21’0″). The composition is built on a buff (taupe-toned) field with a buff border — an unusually monochromatic and refined color register for a Kirman of this scale.
Kirman (Kerman) is a major city in southeastern Persia (now Iran), with one of the longest continuous formal-carpet weaving traditions in the country.
