Antique American Allover Floral Square 1920s Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 103 x 108 inches (8’7″ x 9′). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor.
This exceptional square piece is a rare example of the quilt style, characterized by its dense, textile-inspired patterning and unusual construction.
The design employs a magnificent allover pattern, featuring lush bouquets of roses and foliage that repeat seamlessly across the field.
The palette is rich and sophisticated, utilizing deep crimsons, blush pinks, and olive greens set against a soft, creamy ground. These saturated hues classify it perfectly among multicolor jewel tone textiles, providing warmth and luxurious texture ideal for a refined interior setting.
Condition: Good.
