Antique American Geometric Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 105 x 120 inches (8’9″ x 10′). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor.
This unique textile presents a striking geometric design that immediately evokes the traditional American quilting aesthetic.
This masterful use of natural dyes results in a comforting array of earth tone color textiles, providing warmth and grounding to any interior space.
The construction technique, mimicking pieced fabric, emphasizes the precision of the geometric forms. The overall scale and composition suggest this piece was intended for a significant placement.
