An early 20th-century Jerusalem carpet from the 1930s, measuring approximately 152.6 × 213.6 cm (about 5’0″ × 7’0″). The composition is built on a deep black field with a black-toned border, in the disciplined design vocabulary characteristic of Jerusalem-made carpets of the period.

Jerusalem-made carpets from the early 20th century — particularly those associated with the Bezalel School and related workshops — represent one of the most distinctive Modernist-era weaving traditions in the eastern Mediterranean, often combining traditional Persian and Anatolian construction methods with Jewish Revival, Bauhaus, and Art Deco design vocabularies.

Hand-knotted wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
