An early 20th-century Caucasian Shirvan carpet, woven around 1930 and measuring approximately 91.5 × 152.4 cm (about 3’4″ × 5’0″). The composition is a symmetrically organized multi-color design — with blue notably prominent — set against an ivory border, the kind of disciplined, cleanly drawn geometric layout for which Shirvan weaving is known.

Shirvan refers to a historic Caucasian weaving region in present-day eastern Azerbaijan; rugs from this tradition are recognized for their tightly drawn small-scale designs and their use of cotton foundations under wool pile, giving the surface a slightly firmer hand than purely all-wool village weaves.

Authentic one-of-a-kind antique Caucasian carpet.
