A striking antique blue Peking, hand-knotted in wool in China around 1905. This one-of-a-kind piece showcases an allover composition across a blue palette, and measures 8’0″ x 9’8″.

Antique Chinese Peking carpets were hand-woven in northern China in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are loved for their open, uncluttered fields, soft sculpted wool pile, and motifs drawn from Chinese symbolism – medallions, florals, birds and auspicious emblems.

At a true room size it will anchor a living or dining room, framing a seating group or sitting comfortably under a dining table. Its cool blues sit beautifully against warm woods, brass accents and neutral walls. Hand-knotted from durable wool, it is made to be lived with and handed down.
