Karajeh Rugs
Karajeh (or Karaja) rugs come from a village in Northwest Persia, near the Heriz district. They are instantly recognizable by their unique medallion layout: typically a string of three or more large, distinct geometric medallions (often a square flanked by two eight-pointed stars) running down the center.
Woven with a rugged, thick pile and saturated colors like deep madder red and indigo, they offer the geometric strength of a Caucasian rug with the charm of a Persian village weave. They are exceptionally durable and perfect for high-traffic hallways or dining areas.
Karajeh rugs are highly prized tribal treasures, celebrated for their robust construction and captivating aesthetic defined by strong geometric designs. Originating in the rich weaving tradition of Persia Iran, these durable, authentic pieces bring centuries of artistic heritage and powerful visual impact to the modern home.
