Ganjeh Rugs
Ganjeh (or Ganja) rugs are classic Caucasian weavings from the region situated between the Kazak and Shirvan districts. These rugs are the embodiment of “tribal strength,” often featuring long, narrow formats and bold geometric patterns. A signature Ganjeh design is the diagonal “barber pole” stripe or a series of octagonal medallions.
They are known for using high-quality, lustrous wool and saturated natural dyes. Because of their rugged construction and vibrant, linear energy, Ganjeh rugs are ideal for hallways and rustic spaces that require a piece with a strong, ancient soul.
Distinguished by their strong coloration and stylized medallions, Ganjeh rugs capture the dynamic artistry inherent in the weaving traditions of the Caucasus.
