RugsOnNet is the latest chapter in our family’s long history of sourcing and celebrating exceptional art of rugs. It all began in 1977, when our father, Kevin Rahmanan, purchased his very first antique Caucasian rug and embarked on a journey to where we are today. Just 21 years old at the time, his passion for this beautiful craftsmanship quickly blossomed into a lifelong pursuit and a flourishing family business as one of New York’s most respected sources for fine and beautiful area rugs.

Our curated collection reflects this passion, offering everything from rare, high-end masterpieces to a wide variety of beautiful, affordable options, all available in one place.

Kevin Rahmanan

Owner / Founder

Having entered the rug industry at a young age, Kevin Rahmanan started his first business, Rahmanan’s Antique Rugs, in 1979. His passion for the craft was sparked by his very first antique purchase at just 21 years old. Since then, he has developed a deep understanding of materials, weaving techniques, and restoration, which has earned him a reputation among collectors and designers.

Kevin’s passion for rugs is most evident in his unrivaled collection of antique and vintage pieces. Spanning centuries and continents, the collection features rare and spectacular examples from Persia, Turkey, India, and Europe.

This includes an unparalleled selection of traditional and Art Deco Chinese rugs, widely considered to be the largest such collection in the world. Each rug is personally curated by Kevin himself, reflecting his deep understanding of history, craftsmanship and passion for the woven these beauties.

Kevin is also known for his ability to recreate historically rooted captivating designs, such as Aubusson tapestries, with updated colors and textures. He personally travels to production facilities in countries like India, China, Turkey, and Nepal to oversee new production and train artisans, ensuring every piece meets his rigorous standards. His meticulous eye for quality is particularly evident in his exceptional restorations of palace-sized rugs and his curation of every item in the collection at Rahmanan Antique & Decorative Rugs.

As the head of new rug collections, Rozi curates modern rug production lines by meticulously analyzing customer preferences and gathering insights from top designers. Through her efforts, the company bridges the gap between traditional artistry and contemporary demand, making exceptional quality and design available to everyone, regardless of their budget.

Emanuel Rahmanan discovered his passion for visual storytelling at a young age, purchasing his first professional camera at just 14 after a summer working in his father’s showroom. This early creative drive is now the foundation of our company’s visual identity.

Emanuel is the eye behind our brand, masterfully handling everything from staging and photography to video production and editing. His work brings each rug to life, turning them into engaging digital content that resonates with our audience. He has also taken the lead on our social media, using his unique creativity to grow our following and expand our reach significantly.

A graduate of Queens College at just 19 years old, Nathaniel Rahmanan brings a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to our operations. His fascination with rugs, their rich history, and the intersection of commerce and technology is the driving force behind his work.

Nathaniel has channeled this passion into researching and writing a large portion of the content on our site, ensuring that our customers not only find the perfect rug but also understand the story and artistry behind it. He is also the eye behind our digital strategy, overseeing our AI-driven SEO and growth operations.

His ability to tailor the site for ease of use and navigation makes it simple for clients to find what they need with relative ease. His commitment to learning and a deep respect for our family legacy ensures that RugsOnNet continues to evolve and excel, all while staying true to our roots.

Katrina Mauro

Head of Sales

Katrina entered the antique carpet market in 2009 after her travels led her to fall in love with the art. Armed with a BFA in Environmental Design from The Maryland Institute College of Art, her studies focused on design, material studies and cultural art histories. Combined with a lifelong exploration of crafting processes and a continued commitment to learning, carpets are more than a profession — they are a passion.

As Head of Sales, Katrina is known for her thoughtful, consultative approach and her ability to guide clients through the selection process with clarity and confidence. She works closely with collectors, designers, and private clients, taking the time to understand individual needs, spaces and aesthetics in order to recommend rugs that feel both meaningful and well-suited. Her emphasis on long-term relationships, honest guidance and informed decision-making reflects a high-end gallery-level standard of service.
